RSS Feed Length
« on: January 26, 2010, 11:50:00 PM »
Hello everyone,

I use an RSS feed aggregator to get my content from UBFan, so this probably won't apply to lot of people, but here it goes.

It seems like only the first 5 lines of a post are published to the RSS feed and it also seems that only the last 5 posts are published as well. Is there some setting on the forum software that would increase the size of the RSS feed posts such that they include the entire message?

Here's an example of something I got tonight:

Quote
Quote from: bullsfan on Today at 07:37:09 PM
Quote from: Bull_In_Exile on Today at 05:22:47 PM
Any chance that killing their maxes might be because of better form?

Well if you thi...

Obviously, it's hard to figure out what is being talked about. If the whole message was posted to RSS I could read it without having to navigate to the site.

Thanks,
Jordan

I'm willing to bet its just a limitation of the SMF forum software.  Jeseph, can you confirm?

The RSS feed is meant to give a short summary, but not the whole content.

That's too bad. Most websites contain the entire post in the RSS feed.
