Buffalo Bulls Basketball / Keep an ear to the ground for next 48 hours
« on: April 19, 2018, 11:19:55 AM »
Word is that “I’ve got a feeling the next 48 hours are going to be good for the Bulls” according to Coach Hodgson. He’s returning from Florida on what I presume to be a recruiting trip.

Success on the Court and integrity off it describes Nate pretty darn well!

Congratulations to Nate. Tony Bennett received 50 of 65 votes with two others getting five and four and six others one each. I wouldn’t be surprised if he becomes coach of the year in the future. Time to get your family, friends, colleagues and all of their friends etc out to Alumni Arena and get in in the foundation of great things for UB men’s basketball.

Buffalo Bulls Basketball / Congratulations to CJ!

CJ named to Lou Henson All American Team. Congrats!

It was great to see this. UB was one of the best mid-major teams in the country. Despite that none of our players were named to honorable mention All American while POTYs from many weaker conferences and teams were. It seems a little more thought went into this list. Therefore imo this recognition is more meaningful. Congrats again to CJ!

He does not sound like someone on the road out of town.

Buffalo Bulls Basketball / Odds on keeping FLJ and NO
« on: March 21, 2018, 04:38:50 PM »
I get the sense that it may be difficult to keep Jack. I think it’s more likely she decides to move on. Bronstein has been tweeting about her situation. He mentions that there hasn’t been any discussions about a new contract and that she’s looking for raises for her assistants so she and they can move forward. I wouldn’t be surprised if she could be a bit put off that she hadn’t been approached since Oats was and got a new deal. Oats on the other hand I still believe will be here next year. I just don’t see him leaving Perkins and CJ behind with an excellent recruiting class coming in. Apparently Bryan is out in Kansas recruiting. No stopping these guys.

The women are in. Big time congrats to Coach Jack and the players for getting an at large invite, quite impressive and a reflection of all their hard work!

The nominations have been tabulated and the winner is Ikenna Smart, the only player in UB history to go to three Big Dances. It’s is quite cool to think of him as the only one to go to three especially given some of the grief he’s gotten. Kudos to him. It couldn’t happen to a nicer kid.

Buffalo Bulls Basketball / Coach Jack extension?
« on: March 10, 2018, 07:57:17 AM »
According to this TBN article nothing in the works. http://buffalonews.com/2018/03/09/legette-jack-says-no-talks-on-contract-extension/ I hope the admin makes a concerted effort show how much they, and we, appreciate her outstanding success.

Buffalo Bulls Basketball / Dontay Carruthers

Reflecting on Cleveland thus far, one cannot overstate the importance of Dontay getting back to MAC Defensive Player of the Year lock down defense. I thought it was important to single him out and give some special praise. So here’s to you Dontay!!
