Don’t like either, but I’m hoping Cuse wins big.

i can't get upset with the asu play in and say that they don't deserve a shot given some of their big wins this year (wins over number 1 seeds xavier and kansas). i've never been a big fan of over weighting feb wins over nov wins - just shorten the season if you want to do that. you can certainly make the argument other teams deserve a spot (half the fun of march madness and selection sunday), but asu isn't a bad choice, and certainly deserves it under the quadrant system.

that said, go 'cuse!

Evans has really improved his shooting release.  I thought his shot was too slow when he was at UB, but his release is much quicker and it looks like he's really improved his range too.  Good for him.

I guess there are plenty of reasons to like/dislike either team. For me it comes down to which team has the fewest godawful hairstyles. Plus my Upstate NY loyalty. Go SU.

I gotta say...I was not disappointed that 3 did not go down.

What an ugly game to watch.
The State University of New York.

Blue. White. Damn Right.

Just the opposite for me. Didn't think I'd be saying this, but I really wanted Evans to hit that shot. I was very surprised by how much I felt for Evans on that miss.

I’m with you there. I was rooting for SU but if a ASU win did happen, I was rooting for to be on the back of Evans. That being said, he left, is now graduating a year older then he needed to, no closer to a nba career, a crappier degree, ASU is basically a community college.... hope you don’t regret it bro. Hope some league in Turkey or Israel has a spot for you.

Fun fact: if we beat Arizona, then all 3 Pac-12 teams that made the tournament will have been eliminated by New York teams (UCLA-Bonaventure, ASU-Syracuse)

Just wondering, how he got 4 years of eligibility when he sat out a year after transferring?

2 years at UB playing
1 year ineligible at ASU (Transfer Rule)
2 years at ASU playing

All athletes have five years in which to play four years in a sport commencing from when they enroll full time at a two or four year school.  The clock stops for any time in the military or on a religious mission (The BYU Rule).

It would of been nice to see another former player and coach from UB advance. An ugly game but that is what the Cuse's zone does to a team. Can not see Cuse going far with their very poor overall shooting. Cuse's zone took Arizona State totally out of their normal offensive flow. Kodi Justice was the guy they needed to get the ball to in the last few minutes as he hit three 3 pointers and was the only hot shooter down the stretch. Holder's 26% field goal percentage was a back breaker with Evans not much better. It looked like Hurley tonned down his sideline antics a bit but not sure if it helped or hurt his team. On to bigger and better results with UB. Go Bulls!!!
