Not an NBA talent, but hope he makes the most of his opportunity and earns some good $$$ overseas.

Well after the whole fake VA Tech commitment thing, Higgs just tweeted that he got an offer from Illinois. Not an official commitment yet, but it certainly looks that way. So much for his "final 3."  ::)

Edit: Add Louisville to the mix. Really not looking good for us now.

Looks like Higgs will be waiting until June 15th to announce his decision. He still has 3 official visits left so I assume he's planning to visit all of his final 3 schools in that time.

WVU had Nova on the ropes for a while there in the Sweet 16. But minus Carter and Miles next year? I like our chances.

... Man, we're pretty stacked.  How do we get minutes for everyone.

I haven't checked, but when was the last season where the projected starters stayed healthy the entire season?
Unfortunately, there's a reasonable chance that the projected 2nd string will get more minutes than the fans currently project.
Being stacked is not just good, it's almost required of a winning team.  Getting everyone to buy into their roles will always be key.

We were pretty damn lucky with injuries this year. Caruthers made it back in time to be effective when we needed him. May not be as lucky next year but assuming we get another forward to fill that last scholarship, we should have the depth to handle some potential adversity.

Meh. I know he has a team in the Final Four, but this is his third D1 job and this was his first winning season in the Valley. I'm not sure I would be too excited about handing him a P5 program if I'm an AD.

I don't disagree, but I'm hoping for our sake some P5 AD gets caught up in the Final Four excitement and hires him rather than making a run at Oats.

Have to think Porter Moser will be a hot P5 candidate too whenever Loyola's run ends. Congrats to them on the Final Four!

Pitt screwed up with Kevin Stallings all the way - hiring him in the first place and then firing him only 2 years later with a huge buyout to deal with. Sure they can afford to pay Oats more anyway, but chances are they'll screw this up to our benefit. And again. Oats is too smart to take on this train wreck/dumpster fire/whatever you wanna call it.

K-State won with no player taller than 6'4" for the stretch run. Coulda woulda shoulda been us. Hard to argue with it being Loyola's destiny for the Final Four though. 3 wins by a total of 4 points

Buffalo Bulls Basketball / Re: Excellent Oats interview.

On the flip side, this is the same reason I am slightly scared this may be the off season Oats may leave. If a UConn or Pitt or any P5 (not including PAC, western NY took there status away from them) is in love with Nate, this year it will cost an extra 1.3 mill... by next year it may be closer to 2 mill, the year after that even more potentially if the program grows the way we all dream about.

Hopefully UConn hires Dan Hurley. Oats strikes me as a far too sane individual to take the Pitt job, regardless of what they would offer financially. That program is one of the biggest dumpster fires of all P5 schools right now, at least among those that are not tied to the FBI investigation. Of course schools who just fired their coach are generally not in the greatest shape, but I have to think there will be better opportunities out there for him next offseason should he choose to pursue them.

What an excellent showing for the MAC. Congrats ladies!!! Bring on the defending national champs!

Be careful what you wish for.   ;D

All kidding aside, from Gamecock Nation - congrats on your big win tonight.  I was very impressed with your style of play.  It will be interesting to see how we will match up.... your guard play and our interior post play.  Here's to a great game on Saturday.

Welcome fellow Gamecock! This is the matchup I hoped for when the bracket came out, kind of a win-win for me. Yes, it should be a great game. Our post players more than held their own tonight but A'ja Wilson is on a level of her own.

UMBC definitely stole the spotlight from us tonight. A well deserved congrats to them, but let's steal it back again tomorrow!

Two AZ players have declared for the draft.

Can't blame 'em. Looks bad that they did it so quickly but that program is likely headed for hard times.

Everyone got to play an NCAA game. What an experience. I think even coach Oats was too shocked about it.

If someone told you we'd be emptying the bench in the last minute of the game tonight, who would have guessed it would be because we were winning by 20+?? Certainly not me. Wow!!!

Absolutely incredible effort tonight. No reason we can't take Kentucky down if we play like this on Saturday. Sky is the limit. Thank you Bulls! Shocked the world and then some.
