We played hard and we played well. Came within just a few points for a good portion of the game. Next year will be stellar. Historic run of the bulls this year, horns up.

2
THERE. WE GO.

3
Remember, we came back hard in the second half against Arizona and ended up beating them by 21. We can do the same. Oats is giving our boys magic right now. Let’s go bulls.

4
Starting to get some heat. Our passing and ball handling is on point. Keep that up and we’ll gain em.

5
These freshmen are getting a little in our heads. We gotta get our energy and confidence up. Seems jittery.

Been saying this for years. Academically and with our position as a flagship of New York State, UB should be at LEAST be in the AAC. I have also hugely disagreed with our move to make the ‘Buffalo’ brand somewhat permanent. We should be branding ourselves as New York State and we should be competing with UConn, Cuse, Boston College, and Rutgers on a regular basis. Sorry - but Kent State and Eastern Michigan University just don’t compare to an AAU, tier 1 comprehensive research university that was founded by a U.S. President.

GF went to OSU for undergrad and is at DYC for grad, I've gone to the dark side as an OSU fan. At least I gave her my UB sweatshirt...

Didn’t White mention the possibility of changing the name in one of his interviews? Doubt it will happen, but if so, why not go back in UB history and use the name Bison? Has a few things going for it: 1) keeps ties with Buffalo and UB heritage (former name of team, defunct U of B magazine, Bison/Buffalo connection; 2) eliminates conflict with the Red Bulls (Google NY Bulls and see how many pages of links to the Red Bulls show up); 3) solves gender confusion issue for the ladies’ teams; 4) should not be confused with the Bisons. The hockey Bisons haven’t been around for a while now, the baseball Bisons are the Buffalo Bisons, we will be the New York Bison. Also, the spelling of Bison is befitting an institution of higher learning as it is the correct plural of Bison, not Bisons; 5) already have a mark that can be used instead of the boring SUNYAB thing they are trying to pass off now. Just use the old logo depicted in my avatar. Substitute NY for the UB on the jersey and you’re good to go.

Actually, I love this idea. And no alumni can argue it because it's already a historical name. All your points are great.

BTW, when it comes to secession from NYC, Upstate NY receives a lot more in revenue than what it gives ($7.9 billion)

And secondly, what fan base is really being pissed off with the logo change?  If there was a strong and large fan base none of the new marketing ideas would have had to have been tried.  I have seen many different things done over the last 37 years to drive up attendance at all UB sports.  This is another attempt and let's see if it works.  Give it time, after all a home attendance record was set this year before anyone goes tot eh game Friday.

This is laughable.  Figures youd post it.

I dont care for this logo either, and I never will.  You dont have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that the "State University Of" and the "Buffalo" part of it is an embarrassment to White or there would be more emphasis on it.  Honestly, I dont care about the Bull logo, I dont even care about the "Buffalo"  But If your going to market statewide, SOMEWHERE, "STATE" has to be emphasized too.

I also thinks its damn ridiculous that this whole New YORK bullshaq has to be rolled out it such a pussy footed sort of way because theyre afraid to step on SUNYs' and Down States toes.  Eff all of them, and be the University of New York or New York State University.

The university's official name is the "State University of New York at Buffalo" and that will never change, per SUNY. We cannot legally or officially go by the "University of New York" or "New York State University", unless University and/or SUNY regulations allow us to do so. New Era's logo spells out our name perfectly in a refreshing way that is acceptable for an athletics department to use (the font is perfect).

As for it being rolled out slowly, I agree to a certain extent - we should be either called the Buffalo Bulls or New York Bulls at this point (I obviously prefer the latter). But, White has been testing the waters, and so far, those waters are getting warmer. You can't just tell everyone affiliated with the University that they're now known as "New York". You have to do it in a fashion where people can get used to the idea and market it in such a way that it becomes easier and easier to deal with. As for now though, UB athletics has received a considerable amount of national coverage - per Mack and Bo, our record, and ESPN, so that we're starting to be recognized. The problem I see with that though, is that we weren't recognized as "New York".

The Big10 will never take us if we're known as "Buffalo". Sorry, but how many schools in the conference are known by their respective city? None. Go by New York and let's raise the profile of this University.

And UB should never go by simply New York either , unless they officially become the University of New York.  They are no way shape or form a sports team from New York City.

You see that's what your missing.  I'm all for all of this as long as UB is moving in a direction to becoming U of NY or New York State University.  Get rid of Buffalo for all I care.  But the fact that we have to pussy foot around and not piss off SUNY and the New York City politicians who run this damn state system won't allow that.  We have to kowtow to these assholes.

And give me a break on the new logo, I don't see how anybody can not look at it and not see the glaring non emphasis on the State University of part.  Let me ask you this, this whole NYBI initiative is supposed to be a state wide marketing ploy, how on earth can you do that by deemphasizing State?

And by the way, the Big ten, or any major conference for that matter, is never going to look at UB for membership if this half assed effort, what the hell are we named this week, continues.  And even less so until Buffalo no longer exists and UB is officially the U of NY or NYSU.  Or of course SUNY and the downstate politicians actually grant UB Flagship status, which you seem not to think is needed.

I agree with you, we should know who we are at this point and we don't. But I disagree with everything else.

1. The SUNY Centers are already essentially flagships, it's already been granted since 1962.

2. The BIG10 has already been looking at us because of the recent moves by White. Now all we have to do is keep winning and keep advertising NY and we'll be there soon enough.

3. Michigan's athletics logo doesn't say "Michigan University". Berkeley's athletics logo doesn't say "University of California Berkeley". UT's athletics logo doesn't say "University of Texas at Austin". See what I'm getting at? We don't need "State University of" and "Buffalo" in our logo. I'd be happier with straight "NY" type logo, which isn't out yet...but let's keep waiting ;)

4. If we don't need the word "state" in the logo, why have it? I mean...sure I'd rather have it because of confusion with NYC....but it's certainly not necessary. It'd help though.

True Blue is working on UB Stadium music suggestions. Funny how you mentioned it at the same time. Our members commented about Kent State's music when we traveled there. Good post +1
