I received my copy of the 2018 College Football Preview today. Two quick hits for those that follow Phil...first, he has UB as his 15th most improved team over 2017; second, he has UB going to the Bad Boys Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa at Raymond James Stadium on December 20th as a replacement team for the AAC/ACC; according to Phil, UB will face UAB in said game.
I approve both of these prognostications :-)

I approve of Tampa. Great area, easy flights.

Cigar City Brewing, here I come.

I actually had one or more samples of their fine work this past winter in Florida :-) I could handle Cigar City Brewing - Redux...

They just started selling in New York too. I wouldn't mind going to the source for some Jai Alai. Tyree, Anthony and Khalil will be worth the price of admission for a bowl game this year.

Based on Vegas odds, SB Nation has UB to the Potato Bowl...on the 21st of December (yikes!). Been there, done that...and got hit by a big ice storm at home while I was away to Boise in 2013 :-(

The ONLY good thing about going to Boise would be that we already know where the breweries are.

I approve this post!
PS....I took Dar to a few of the haunts when she and I saw Troy @ Boise this past fall...me thinks even she would approve your post!

Just finished reading Phil Steele's 2018 College Football Preview. An interesting ranking caught my attention. He doesn't list a UB recruit among the Top 500 2018 Freshmen. Last year, UB two in the 2017 list. Rodney Scott was listed at #85 among freshman wide receivers and Jeremiah Riordan was ranked #2 among long snappers.
Both had very solid freshman seasons. Scott saw significant playing time and earned his letter. He is again in a very solid UB WR rotation this season.
Riordan, a top 50 State of Michigan 2017 recruit by scout.com and ESPN, was the exclusive UB snapper last season. He was perfect, meaning zero bad short snaps (FG's & extra points) and zero bad long snaps (punts), for the season. This is outstanding for snapping predominately in cold weather (Western New York and the rest of the MAC). He also got down the field well and had three tackles -- one against Minnesota that almost caused a turnover, a shoe string tackle against Colgate, and a solid tackle against Bowling Green. Interestingly, most of the others on the Steele 2017 long snapper list were exclusive short or long snappers and all but one snapped in a warm weather conference.
There may be a reason why no UB recruit made the 2018 list. First, a significant number of this year's incoming class are grey shirts, meaning they too graduated from high school in 2017. Also, among the recruits, it looks like only the JC transfers will get significant playing time this year.
All in all, this bodes very well for the future of UB football. As we all know, recruiting is the life blood of any successful football program.

Another prognostication...I also approve of this one! Plus, Dar likes Cherri Bundi Tart Cherry :-)

I either attended or watched all but one game last season and I thought he played. My bad.

Hmm, HoofPrints says major is Communication. Under his pic, the bio says major is Engineering.
