He didn't make the Rockets? Maybe he should contact the Houston media and have them to write a hit piece on the Owner or Coach.

Couldn't disagree more. This is not a case of "there's no such thing as bad publicity". Bucky Gleason single-handedly attempted to disembowel our football program for years and his hit pieces shaped the minds of every casual observer in WNY. He did nothing to support any of our programs since he was only audible during times of duress. He was a cancer to UB athletics and I'm glad as hell that they removed him from his soapbox.

Besides our national championship teams in wrestling and bowling.

Oh, my bad. I forgot about that enthralling 1978 victory over "Millersville" to win the DIII National Championship in Wrestling. That was definitely a more impressive feat than knocking off 2 top-10 D1 schools on their home courts, advancing to the Sweet 16, and falling to the defending National Champions on ESPN.

That game was within their grasp. SC was big but not unbeatable. We did ourselves in with some untimely misses and turnovers. Still a fabulous season. Glad to have made it to Albany. Stopped in at Parrish Public House just before. Met Mark Alnutt, shook hands with Nate Oats. Happy with the Buffalo turnout. (The UConn fans were sure rooting for us.)

Wish I could have made it, PTR. I used to play music every week in that place and know the owner Francis very well. Glad to hear there was a solid UB showing for the ladies.

Unbelievable run by the ladies. They will go down as perhaps the most accomplished team in UB Sports history. Thank you for everything, ladies. It's been a pleasure rooting for you. I had the whole bar pulling for you here in Portland, ME.

On another sad note, once again the Albany Media is m.i.a. when mentioning NY state teams west of Schenectady. The Albany Times Union has a piece on their front sports page about South Carolina's A'ja Wilson but absolutely no love for the New York State public institution playing against her in the Sweet 16. We are partly to blame however since we don't market ourselves east of Batavia.

There should be a setting on your TV where every time Dakich opens his mouth Reggie bleeps out every word with the center court buzzer.

Now the real season begins.  Scratch that. One completely meaningless game to go against BGSU. I'll wake up for Cleveland.

Way to wrap up the regular season with a program best 1st place finish! I wasn't able to watch the game but it sounds like it was another nail biter. I hope these guys figure out what's been going on the last few weeks or this could be a painful finale.

Glad that for tonight's game we've stopped chanting Lets Go New York. That was awful!

The fact that "New York" doesn't rhyme as well as "Buffalo" in True Blue chants is probably the most logical argument against NYBI ever made.

Some Cinci fans aren't exactly pleased that this lightly recruited kid is going to be a Bearcat. They're even more embarrassed that they're in recruiting battles with schools like Buffalo and Lasalle. LaQuill might have a better shot at being seen at Cinci but personally I'd rather go to a school that was pumped about my commitment instead of being disappointed that I'm not a 5-star with offers from P5 schools. Good luck, buddy.

Ahhh, yessss. Zipsnation always provides a good laugh. We spanked the Zips by 22 in their house a month ago and 2 different posters claim they "weren't impressed" by the Bulls since we "didn't put them away" and "should have won by 50".

Miami fans > BGSU fans > Kent fans > Ohio fans > Akron fans

Over the last few years Akron has easily had the most intolerable fans in the conference. They're always full of themselves and they hate us for knocking some of their best teams out of the tourney. Let's try to impress their fans this time by putting them away early and winning by at least 50.

Yesterday I saw a Bulls squad that stopped playing like a team and became selfish. Wes, CJ, and Davonte all had moments where they tried to dribble through multiple defenders instead of passing the ball. Ikenna and McRae decided they would take 3-pointers for some odd reason. It looked like the whole team was frustrated and each player decided that they would take the game into their own hands. Unfortunately, that's not how this team has won in the past and it backfired with terrible turnovers and questionable shot selection.

The MAC has been an Ohio Hump Fest for years and we all know we will not receive any favors from the refs down the road in Cleveland. I really hope these guys take a step back, calm down, and go back to the things that made them such a force earlier in the season. Unselfish slash and kick out basketball in the half court and fast break opportunities.

Personally, I blame UB85 for writing that post about how he appreciated this team because it was made up of a "collection of individuals coming together playing unselfishly". You jinxed us, dude. ;)

I wouldn't put Perkins anywhere near the top team. He's mediocre at best on defense and he takes a lot of ill advised shots. I like Harris to be first team though. He's steadily improved all year and lately he's been one of the most consistent offensive threats in the conference. Everyone else on the team has had trouble maintaining consistent production.

Oats was just on WGR, and dropped a nice "we don't know what students look like". So that's a good challenge for students to make it out this game.

He's right. Everyone always says "the crowd sucks because the students are on break" but doesn't that statement only apply to students who aren't from WNY? We are supposed to have a ton of local kids attending UB so why do none of them ever show up for games during the breaks?

I think we struggle in this one and it actually leads to us playing a full game instead of only showing up for the first half. We win by 10.

No timeouts taken until we've completely blown an 18-pt lead? Never doubling up the post and leaving Ikenna on an island getting destroyed over and over again by a 7-footer? It was piss poor coaching, but I'm not going to hold it against Oats. He's been phenomenal this year and it was completely out of the norm, so much so that I'm convinced he was trying to convey some type of a message to the guys.

We were NEVER getting an at-large. That possibility was squandered when CJ blew the Cuse game with his worst shooting performance of his career. That was our best chance to knock off a big boy and actually have a slight shot at an at-large. Beating every 2018 MAC school 100x would still not be enough to convince the committee to take us.

We are still in the driver's seat and nothing has changed.

Albany coach said Kent had more talent than any other team they faced, including Louisville. If we're caught looking ahead to the WMU game then this could be a long night. Gut check time.
