Buffalo Bulls Basketball / Re: Gabe Grant From Houston to UB
« on: July 21, 2018, 01:08:32 PM »
Good insight DooleyBull06!! Coach Oats and staff really seem to be on the right track. They are looking not only at the present but the future years as what the team will look like. Have not heard much about their continuing search for a big player to augment Perkins, McCrea and Bertram. A lot is going to depend if Bertram will show any kind of improvement and be any kind of presence in the middle. It is going to be interesting to see how Segu and Williams can fit into the lineup with the present players. The continued improvement of Jordan and Carruthers will be important. It should be another exciting upcoming year. Go Bulls!!!

Congrats to Coach Cordoba. I have talked to her many times and was very impressed with her ability to communicate with the players and with her taking the time to talk with fans like us. I would think with Coach Jack’s estension the other coaches received a bump in pay also. With all their success I think it is well deserved. Go Bulls!!!!

I heard from one of the coaches that there was a 6’8’ JUCO that was here for a visit. He was up in the stands at the celebration. Have not heard if he signed and there were some other schools also interested in him. Go bulls!!!!

I get the idea that Coach Oats wants and in some ways expects larger crowds and Coach Jack said how important it is to get bigger crowds and more support for their programs. It will be up to True Blue and the admin to market fir these programs. Hope to see the positive vibes continue. Go Bulls!!!!

Buffalo Bulls Basketball / End of Season Celebration recap
« on: April 14, 2018, 05:08:46 PM »
It was a decent attended event with the season highlights from both teams. The interaction of both players and coaches was a pleasant experience. The positive vibes from both the coaches and players will hopefully help keep the momentum going into next season. Hope the new AD is working on a contract extension for Coach Jack. Did anyone hear about two potential recruits for the men - a 6’8’ JUCO forward and a 6’11’ center?? Not a surprise that both Smart and Reese are leaving. Go Bulls!!!

Another great accomplishment for the women. What will next season bring?? We lose three of our starters and Central loses two of their best players. Hope the MAC can continue their climb up in the rankings. Go Bulls!!!

I think Hamlet could be the wild card. Has shown to be a good assist type player but don't know about his offensive ability. If Williams an Segu can be anywhere on how they have shown on film they should be able to get more playing time than 10/15 minutes. Jordan and Caruthers have to become more comfortable in their roles and show improvement from last season.I don't see much more upside to McCrea's play and the big question will we see any improvement in Bertram. We really need another big man underneath to take some pressure off of Perkins, CJ and Harris. Just an exciting time for UB basketball. Go Bulls!!!!

Is the UB Celebration going to be advertised somewhere other than just the internet? I wonder how many students will show up and how many of the general fan base!!How about special prices for UB shirts and concession prices. Am I asking too much?? Go Bulls!!!!

Agree. Congrats to Nate Oats. After listening to the Nate Oats podcast you can understand the reasons for his success. His principles of not only X's & O''s of coaching and how young men should be treated along with having good people around him enable him to relate to young men and to show them the importance of living your life the right way. Hope more fans show their support and join the UB express for both the men and women next season. Go Bulls!!!!
