I think you might be right in that the first month might seem empty, but hopefully we can fill up the board with new material.
We'll always have to old board to go back to for records.
The main reason for the upgrade is that Invision seems to have new functionality coming out regularly. It's going to cost me extra, but hopefully it'll be worth the investment. We started with phpBB, then switched to SMF. So this is the 3rd migration. When we started phpBB was good, then SMF seemed like it had better features.
We'll always have to old board to go back to for records.

All,
I am planning on changing message board platforms before the football season starts. First game happens on September 1st. Which means I will need to launch the new platform around August 17th.
Here is some info:
- The current bulletin board runs on SMF. I will be changing the platform to Invision.
- We won't be migrating the content. I will have this site for archive read only. All new discussions will happen on the new board.
- There is a way for me to migrate the users, but I am actually thinking that I won't. All users will need to re-register for the new site.

As much as I love Bearden, I wouldn't risk 1 year of Bearden for the risk of losing Segu.
We need to have a plan going forward. Bearden will be great for 1 year, but after that, it'll be bare especially with the possibility of a coaching staff turnover. Segu will want to get minutes now.

What a great listen.
What I really love is his honesty. He's honest at half time on national TV. He's honest in interviews.
We have a real gem.
His dialogue on race is so good and really funny. The two coaches talking about race in a good way, but it's honest dialogue. They're trying not to say something that can be taken wrong and that fine line is what's so funny.
He's still friends with Danny White. Oh oh, I hope UCF keeps winning. On Danny White. What a bold move by him. He just went with his gut and led. He left us a great gift in Oats and Jack. Hopefully, Leipold is another gem. We'll find out this year.

I think you might be right about Jeenathan Williams becoming that 6th man. Mainly because if we go with a 2PG lineup as I suggested, then Massingburg or Harris would need to goto the bench. I don't think that's happening.
So our lineup will probably look like this.
PG - Jordan, Caruthers, Hamlet or Segu (I would think it matters which 2 point guards go well together, which one can score, play off the ball, defend)
PG - Jordan, Caruthers, Hamlet or Segu
SG - Massingburg
SF - Jeremy Harris
F - Perkins
Then as backups:
SG - Jayvon Graves (he needs to play), Reese (He might surprise, but we're so deep at guard)
SF - Jeenathan Williams (Maybe he gets 6th man minutes and plays a lot)
F - McRae and Bertram
Man, we're pretty stacked. How do we get minutes for everyone.

Not sure what his exact height is, different places have it ranging from 6-4 to 6-6.
So if he's 6-5, he's a undersized for Power Forward. But he looks to be built pretty well up top.
I think we go with 2PGs playing all the time. If not, we need to redshirt and save Segu. Redshirting rarely happens so I doubt it.
So our lineup might be

Next year, if it comes to it, we should have a succession plan.
We should go with the hot coach from Loyola Chicago. Jim Whitesell. We're fortunate to have a former D1 head coach on our staff. He's the most logical choice.
We should also elevate Coach Hogson an Associate Head Coach similar to coach Whitesell's role now.

Honestly, it doesn’t take long to rebuild in basketball. Calipari and now Duke somewhat do it every year. If you can recruit, you can win right away.

Basketball Recruiting / Re: 2018 PF

After watching PJ Washington (Kentucky 6'7") dominate the paint last night against KState, I think we can employ Jeenathan Williams in a similar role as the power forward next year. Jeremy Harris can slide to the 3 and Perkins at the 5. That's pretty good size for any team.
Let's also hope McCrae can put on some weight.
