Honestly, I could see this team at 8-4 maybe even 9-5; but the 6-6 call isn't out of the realm of possibility.  It will come down to defense.  UB will score their share of points.  Can they stop the bad guys.

I say "yes" and vote the 8-4...but my glasses are rosy!

Who is kicking for UB? Frankly, I hate busting on student athletes, but we lost many games because of missed KGs and XPs. That could be our undoing this year.
Play calling and kicking during the Akron game alone cost us a trip to Detroit.

The tv money in football is too good

Each school in the MAC gets $700k a year from the TV deal.  For comparison, UB is getting $1.8 Million for ONE GAME at Ohio State.

The TV money is horrible! And it is only that high because of the weeknight games which no one attends but gives ESPN something to put on TV.

...Compared to the A10's previous deal that gave teams about $312k a year... (https://www.vuhoops.com/2012/10/3/3448930/basketball-isnt-worth-much-to-tv)
What does St Bonaventure's football program get for ONE GAME at Ohio State?

So it looks like in the end, a win-win.

Evans got the mentor that he wanted, got to play at a "higher level," and made the NCAA tournament again.

I forgot exactly who got Evans' scholarship, but I really wonder if we would have gotten CJ if Evans stayed.  We wouldn't have needed another guard.  We've won some games since Evans left.  We might not have won an NCAA game this year if we lost all of Evans/Conner/Hamilton/DK/Pino/Johnson/Johnny in one year.  That would rival McRae/Harris/CJ/Caruthers/Perkins this year, though we wouldn't have been in that exact position if Evans stayed.

Play-in game, not NCAA tournament.
Yeah you're right that matchup shouldn't have been an NCAA tournament game, it should have been an NIT matchup

Curious of the reason to convert - SMF has some mediocre software (I ran a forum on it about a decade ago), but I didn't think Invision was much better.  vBulletin was the top of the line software back in the day.

With the decline in activity in forums, I also wonder if archiving 15 years worth of content/users might make this site less active.

Not a huge fan, but I didn't like the old ones either.  The red ones and white ones look the best.  Not big on the grey or black.

We missed Detroit last year on a missed FG and a bad call to go for 1 and not 2.  Second in the east would be a huge disappointment given the roster we have.

Crazy hypothesis.

Next year is the breakout year (not crazy).  Sweet 16 or whatnot, Oats gets hired away.  CJ, Harris, Perk are all gone from graduation.  Our situation looks bad.

Enter: Grant and Johnson.  Both have a year left of eligibility, practiced with the team for a year.  No point in them transferring for a year after they sat (not sure if they would still have eligibility left).  Gives us a year of momentum so that we don't have to have 5 freshmen (or JUCO newcomers) needing to pick up huge minutes.

Is this Oats stocking the kitchen before leaving?

Hmm, HoofPrints says major is Communication.  Under his pic, the bio says major is Engineering.
Does he have a stunt double?  Twin?

Tyree played basketball in high school - would be slightly smaller than Perk.

More football > less football

I'd watch Rutgers vs UMass in the Toilet Bowl

They should have it written into the contract that winner hosts next game.

So we financed somewhere around $10m of the field house.  Coming in: $2.7m alone from payday games in 2020.

Get the field house paid off and then let's work on the stadium.
