« on: May 08, 2013, 04:30:36 PM »
Because I enjoyed (and I hope you did to) the UB does the Oscars movie posters segment,

I decided to do 11 UB themed Summer Blockbuster movie posters....the first two are up

#1: Branden Oliver is: Iron Man 32
#2: Bobby Hurley is: The Great Hurley

I'll post here as I update the page...let me know what you think!

Buffalo Bulls Football / 99 for 99 #3

UB continues to roll in 1948 embarrassing a tough Louisville team in Kentucky.

Interesting tidbit: by percentage, the Transition from Cirbus to Hofher was the best in UB history, while the transition from Gill to Quinn the worse.

Not to pile on Quinn, it just shows it's hard to transition, which is why the extension might end up our saving grace...

patience as they say is a virtue.

Because they are leading the MAC East right now!

Although final cost estimates and financing details have yet to be released, the stadium’s cost is estimated at $800 million. UNLV officials plan to have final budget figures and deal hammered out by late February.

UNLV and the developers earlier had said about one-third, or about $270 million, of the cost would come from long-term naming rights and numerous forms of advertising.

Another third would come from revenue generated at the site.

The last third would come in the form of a sort of tax-incremental financing plan, which would help developers obtain long-term financing. UNLV is expected to ask the Legislature for a special tax district to help support the stadium's construction.

Buffalo Bulls Football / The Future
« on: October 26, 2012, 02:20:46 PM »
Baring a 5 game winning streak and a bowl game, this season is wasted. But we seem to have a bright future in some areas and some weaknesses in other areas.

Our inexperienced secondary is going to be very experienced in the next few years, same can be said for our WRs. But after running the numbers here, I'm optimistic for 3 more years of dynamic running with Devin Campbell.

I would like to see us play like Stanford, Tressel OSU and Wisconsin, big imposing run game with a deadly play-action pass. If we can develop that, or find a coach to develop that, I have a lot of optimism for the next 2-3 years.

What do you see to be the strengths and weaknesses for the future of the program? (And lets probably just talk on the field about personnel, we have plenty of other coach threads)

Buffalo Bulls Football / Coach Firing Season Is Open
« on: October 21, 2012, 06:09:47 PM »

Sunday October 21, 2012

Idaho: We have learned that Robb Akey's contract is being terminated. Expect an announcement from the university shortly.

Not sure if Idaho will just give up football with the death of the WAC, or if they are firing the coach in response to the 70-28 beat down they got Saturday. But firing season is officially open now.

Buffalo Bulls Football / Georgia Game Tickets
« on: May 29, 2012, 04:15:30 PM »
On the UGA website I saw:
Due to visiting team ticket returns, a limited number of tickets to three home football games will be on sale to the general public starting Monday, May 21, 2012 @ 9a.m.
Single game tickets are $45 each and are available to the following home games:
September 1 Buffalo
September 15 Florida Atlantic
September 22 Vanderbilt
All single game tickets ordered will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis.

I assume this means our athletic department returned tickets to Georgia to sell to their fans instead of attempting to sell them to UB?  I hope not.

But I guess it means I should start buying my tickets for the game.  Anyone going?  Any Bulls in a particular section?  I saw scattered Blue at the Tennessee game, and as much as I enjoy the southern hospitality of people who know they are gonna win a cupcake game, I'd prefer the drunken delusion of UB fans with the courage to watch their favorite sacrificial lambs on slaughter day.

Is there a section where UB people will be?

If you don't follow, I have been counting down the 99 best moments in UB football history.

Today I wrote #82, Jim Hofher's 1st win at UB.
