Buffalo Bulls Football / Re: Delaware State & Nebraska

Hopefully, the Huskers will start playing a better brand of football.  Last year was tough for a fanbase used to winning.  Only the third losing season since the early sixties, but could have been a 9 or 10 win team pretty easily.  Hopefully, they have made the adjustment to the new staff (and the new staff to them).  We shall see.

I note that UB has another football coach with Nebraska ties.  Hope he does well.  Would really like to see the Bulls make another bowl game.  Looks like it will have to be on the back of stingy defense if returning starters are any indication.

Long time no post.  Hello to all who remember me from across the years.  Sad to say, I have kind of lost touch with UB Bulls.  Nice to see you on the Huskers schedule for 2021.

Sorry it had to be said.   For all the non-geezers out there:

Controlling your own destiny, what could be better than that.

I have been to Toledo, Spain...

Well, I've never been to Spain.

Nice to see you have mellowed with age.

Somebody give me the season in a nutshell.  I haven't been watching that close.  I saw Baylor drill the Bulls early but shoot, they've clobbered everybody this year.  Losing to two undefeated teams is certainly nothing to hang the head about.  Was this expected, or are people surprised.

Howdy, Veranda.  I was so disappointed in the Red River game.  Hokie says UM A$$.  I say TeXa$$.  I was really enjoying watching them struggle.

As far as the stadium in Lincoln, the three additions added about 15,000 fans and about 15-20 dB.  Can't wait for OU in about what 6-8 years.

Long time, no post.  After a couple of difficult early season games, it looks like it is starting to come together for the Bulls.  I just came back to say, "I told you to give him (Quinn) a chance after that first year," because that is the kinda guy I am.
Good luck on the rest of the season.

May you win enough to be happy, but not enough to attract the attention of AQ cellar dweller AD's.  (sorry)

What's up Hokie, promo?

The fun never ends for them does it.  Hopefully everyone else in the country gets the message and something like that never happens again.

Thanks, I feel so much better now.  I miss posting, but I've been so freakin' busy this year, I've had to limit certain, shall we say lower priority activities.  Hope the Bulls have a good year this year.

Agree look for improvement.  4-6 wins would be improvement.  Remember too that the Bulls were pretty lucky in the bowl season under Gill.  It isn't often that you have the turnover margin favor you that much.

OBTW, I am so hurt that nobody said how nice it was to hear from me again.  [/sobinbeer]

5-7 is progress.  Currently the Bulls are tied for first in the league and have one of the best records in college football

I would put a cap on total staff compensation, and I mean from all sources.
Eliminate contact with athletes prior to June 1 at the end of their Junior year.
Eliminate bowls for teams that do not have winning records, but allow them to practice until the second week in Jan with a required no go period of one week for kids to go home for the holidays.
End over-signing.  And if you pull a scolie from a player, you do not get it back.  (to end some of the SEC shenanigans.
No playoff.  Bowl season is more fun when more bowls matter in the end.  Since the BCS started, I watch far fewer BCS bowl games since they really don't matter much to the MNC.  Maybe I would watch playoff games more, but I am not sure I will.

If there has to be a playoff, then I want six 10 team conf that all play a 9 game round robin and the six conf champs plus two wild card teams are in the playoffs.  If bowls remain, they can fight for the also rans.  Criteria for inclusion is average attendance for the previous 10 years must be 30,000.  Minimum APR.

Veranda, only for OU/NU every year the way it was meant to be.  Despite being a bit disappointed last year, most fans I talk to feel like the Big Ten is a good fit.  We shall see over time.  The Sooners have really had bad Karma so far this year.  Wow.  I'll wait a bit to toss in my centavos.
