It's tough to be optimistic about this program right now... In the past we've at least had some intriguing story lines that kept me interested all the way through. Now, I don't really know what to look forward to. We are a bad team, with poor coaching and not a lot to look forward to. This is the least i've ever cared about the program and it's sad to see.

I agree, Brook.  When we get a good one, like Jon Barnum has been, it would be nice to hang on to them.   Unfortunately, UB as stepping stone is not limited to coaches.

Money is a big factor but it's not the only reason. The school doesn't hire help. They hire new interns every semester and they constantly have to teach new people. It gets tiring on top of their duties

And how do you bring in more help? $$$$

I'm not a huge fan of our new emblem on the field / court, but it looks sick on the jerseys and helmets. These look great!

I think Cubby and BFIC nailed it........I'll be watching closely on Saturday.  As for tonight, the three questions in my mind are:
1) who goes first, Goff or Wentz; Goff
2) how many Buckeyes go tonight 4
3) which team makes the first bonehead pick.......hope it isn't the Bills! Browns.. because Browns

Well, certainly no one will get drafted tonight from UB, but maybe this weekend.

If anyone from UB is going to get drafted, it will be Matt Weiser, Okezie Alozie or John Kling (in that order). I see Licata getting a chance as an undrafted free agent, but would be shocked if he stuck anywhere. I am pulling for him.

I think Weisers production and size will get him drafted in the 6th, 7th round. I think someone might really like Alozies athletic potential, and take a chance late in the draft. Kling will probably get a shot as an UDFA.

I think it's smart to have at least 4 years on the head coaches contract, assuming he's not on the hot seat. It's a security blanket for recruits that the coach will be at the school throughout the kids tenure. All that's left now is to win some games!

With that said, I do like the new logo. Clean, simple and versatile.

wow.. What an extremely sad time for his family, I can't even imagine what they must be going through.

I hope the team pays tribute all year long to Solomon, and they play their tails off for him. RIP Solomon, my thoughts are with you and yours!

This is good and bad..

It's good because it is showing that Lance and the staff are identifying top talent before these other schools, and getting these kids on campus for visits. They are securing commits and selling the program nicely.

It's bad, obviously, because maybe they are biting off more than they can chew. When a high major comes calling, 18 year old kids will listen. always

Albany. AGAIN. We are the only FBS school in the country trying to build a rivalry with a freaking FCS school. I hate it.

pretty much.

If our games vs Albany (or any FCS school) ever become a "rivalry" we got problems. These games should never be competitive enough to become a rivalry.

Coaching staff certainly seems to like going the JUCO route. That tells me, along with the QB transfer, that the staff is playing to win next  year. They are not "settling" for a rebuild year.
