Unbelievable reffing. THIS is why nobody beats them in the dome.

Playing Cuse in the dome is like playing Duke in Cameron. The refs are scared of their whiney dog of a coach and the crap tv crew just glosses over every crap call with orange glasses.

I think we are more than capable of beating Syracuse especially because they are coming off a dramatic comeback win against their old arch nemesis, Georgetown, and their fans are completely focused on that game and have barely mentioned us. If there was ever a ripe moment to beat Syracuse, THIS IS IT. That said, we've never once won a game like this so I'm not getting my hopes up. My prediction: For the millionth time we will keep it close against a big name team, lose in the final 5 minutes, and then everyone will talk about how it was a "quality loss" and we should never expect to beat a program like that.

For those who thought Hurley and Evans II would crash and burn Arizona State they just took down #2 Kansas.  Congrats to both of them and especially Evans II who graduated last spring in four years and is in graduate school.

Nobody said he would crash and burn. We all just wished that he would crash and burn.

Buffalo Bulls Basketball / Re: Bona

I’m not a Bona alum, but Bona is a big deal in men’s basketball - and they have been for decades, before many posters here were even born. I will be rooting for them to make it to the NCAAs and hope they can win a game or two.

Are you 100 years old? St Bonaventure has only made the NCAA tournament two times in the past 40 years. They haven't even won a single NCAA tournament game in 47 years! To put that in perspective, the last time they even won an NCAA tourney game the Beatles had just broken up, we had a fresh new President named Richard Nixon, and a terrible accident was about to happen on a trip to the moon with Apollo 13. How exactly are they a "big deal" in men's basketball today? For pete's sake, the Albany head coach turned them down to continue coaching in the friggin' America East. They are NOT relevant, and the fact that they're in the A10 only amplifies their failures considering that conference puts multiple teams into the tourney every year.

Disclaimer: Before SBU boy decides to rip on UB as a rebuttal, I'm not saying UB is in any way relevant or more relevant than SBU. UB wasn't even a blip on the radar prior to Hurley and we're still struggling to build our program. Either way, the upside is HUGE for us and St Bonnie's time is long past.

Hate to break it to our clueless Athletic Department but nobody cares that we had one of the best receivers in the lowly MAC, nobody cares that we LOST a 7OT game to WMU, and nobody thinks we're one of the "Hottest Teams in the Country" because we won our last 3 games against 2-10 Ball State, 2-10 BGSU, and an Ohio team with nothing to play for. The Bowl Committees only care about butts in seats and TV ratings, two things we didn't exactly excel at this season. If a bowl game was THAT important to us we should have put our money where our mouth was and guaranteed a huge ticket allotment. That's the only thing that would have gotten their attention.

I thought the scene was great but I think many games have had equally as good an atmosphere over the past few years. Hell, the Niagara games in Alumni are usually equally as energetic but it doesn't mean it's a "big game" necessarily. I guess I'm just sick of the arrogance that SBU has shown over the years based solely on the fact that they're in the A10. At least now they actually have a good team but in the past they sucked and thought that simply being in the A10 automatically put them above us. It was like dealing with Kansas football fans bragging about how good their team is because they play in the Big12. Remember a few years ago when Fordham fans thought they had a realistic shot at Bobby Hurley since it was such a "huge step up" from Buffalo?

How is it the Bonas has such better fans than us at our own gym?  That school is tiny.

At least our students got to see what a big crowd atmosphere for a big game was like.  Hopefully that will energize them.

Big crowd atmosphere? Let's not prop Bona fans up, their heads are already too big for their bodies. All you need to remember is that Bona had one of their best teams in decades last year and averaged a whopping 800 more fans than us per game (4k vs 3.2k). They aren't the national power that their fans think they are.

Props where props are due though, SBU has had a solid team the past few years. It's just disappointing to see that the MAC preseason favorite can't hold home court against a team like that. It was a sad showing in the final 10 minutes of the game and this Bulls team has been pretty disappointing thus far this season. A semi-close loss to Cincinnati isn't anything we should be bragging about.

It is not.  Marist, Wagner, Stony Brook, Rutgers, Fordham all have representation on the show today too.  Do not see UAlbany, UB, Cornell, Colgate, Columbia. Though I imagine Columbia is on there I just haven't seen them yet.

Rutgers is even on a rival network today(BTN), yet their Knight is on camera dancing around.

How many UB alums are there in NYC?

Every FBS school in the country seems to have representation on Gameday in NYC except for the only school in FBS that actually represents the state of NY. The Syracuse Orange is dancing around Times Square on national TV while Victor E Bull is MIA. Yet another athletic department marketing fail in the post Danny White era.

Quote from: Buffalonian on NYBI
"Why dont they get any support from the community?"  "Wheres the community support"  Why?  Ill give you one reason, they just bastardized themselves to New York City, thats why.

Why should anyone in NYC give a crap about the University at Buffalo?
