Will Fletcher play? Will he be at 100%?

I'm not sure he'll be 100% if he does play.

If his leg is anything like Wes Clark's shoulder sprain from earlier in the year, he'll fight through the pain. Regardless, him being hurt hurts Toledo tremendously.

It's official.

#1 Buffalo taking on #2 Toledo at 7pm on ESPN2, Saturday 3/10.

32pt win - set up for an exciting championship game! What a thrashing

So would this help show the committee that the MAC deserves 2 seeds?

At this point, CMU and Buffalo both deserve the automatic bid and at-large. It would be an utter disappointment if it didn't happen.

I imagine folks from the baseball, soccer, diving and crew teams are rightly wondering where the money in the athletics budget came from to do this.

I imagine it's because there's a higher demand in college basketball than the sports that were cut from UB. That is the past, this is the future.

I assume he's probably the highest paid in the MAC (or should be).

This is arguably one of the most pettiest posts I've seen in a while. Who cares about a half court shot prize..........

My predictions are for UB are winning this tournament, and it's going to be rather close.

Quarterfinals: UB vs. CMU - UB wins: 84-79

Semi-Finals: UB vs. Ball State - UB wins in OT:  83-80

Finals: UB vs. Eastern Michigan - UB Wins: 79-75

I predict Eastern Michigan rides their hot streak, upsets Toledo in the semi-final game, and heads right to the finals.

This is going to be a fun tourney. Win or lose, this has been such a fun, unforgettable season for UB men's and also UB women's.

It would be nice to pull in Willesley Butler, a good size forward.

I'm still not going to rule out Brock Bertram. He's only a red shirt freshman, with tons of potential. I think Brock just needs to use this off-season to his advantage and hit the weight room and to just drill inside the paint. He certainly has the size to succeed, he just needs the confidence.

Also, I believe if Montell McRae hits the weight room this off season and gains about 20 pounds and works on his footwork as well, then I think he could be a solid player. He has a decent shot and his offensive game isn't that terrible. He just gets pushed around in the paint and doesnt have that size for his height. He can be a great player next if he wants to be.

I believe if Bertram or McRae step up next year, then we will certainly be very good inside along with Perkins. We are already stacked at guard for next year so having a second forward like Perkins step up would be huge.

This should just be like any other game this season. Sitting starters tonight is not the right way to go. We need this team to be as ready as possible and to use this game to correct mistakes and for adjustments.

Agree that the MAC refs have been bad all year but this game we seemed to be getting a number of calls in our favor. Again there is no accountability for refs and someone from the MAC or NCAA should answer for how games are officiated.

Normally I hate MAC refs and I think they are absolutely pitiful, but with UB games in particular this year, I don't think they were that bad. Majority of fouls committed by UB were blatant and straight forward. All I can think about is last year during the playoffs against Kent State and compare that to this year, and it's not even close. I can't speak for the officiating in ALL of the MAC games this year, but with UB, it's been rather fair.

Would be awesome to get some news today #HardnettWatch

At this point, I would be surprised and Hardnett chose Cincy over UB. He has the chance to start immediately with very thin forward depth on a probably very very good UB team next season. Him going to Cincy doesn't guarantee him playing time. Choosing here he'd have more of a chance at a lot of minutes.

C'monnnnn Bryan Hodgson, don't let us down.

Someone has to step up.

I mean that not in a sense of scoring a lot of points, or being the best defender, but, someone on this team has to start jawing at this team. Wes Clark, CJ Massinburg, Nick Perkins, Dontay Caruthers, SOMEBODY has got to start being the leader.

Yes, there is communication amongst the guys on the floor, but, who is the catalyst here? Nobody is. Someone in the next few games has got to step up. One of these upperclassmen has got to be the leader.

Why is it so hard to just realize what the issues are, address them, and fix them? This team is so talented and it's as if they're looking around and are clueless as to why they can't seem to pull away in the second half.

If they don't get it together the next 3 games, then it's probably going to be a short MAC tournament. This season is NCAA tourney or bust and we are not playing to our full potential the last 6 games.

Maybe I'm just rambling at this point, but my point is, somebody on this roster has to become a leader and rally the guys to victory.

Horns Up............

I don't think the officiating has been terrible. The nitpick, soft fouls are always the ones that are a kick in the stomach, but, there aren't that many of those kinds.

UB is aggressive defensively and want to go for the steal, and are in the face of their opponent which is what is leading to the fouls.

This is one area that UB has GOT to clean up and keep opponents from getting easy, free points.

As far as the officiating goes? It's been rather fair. It's just mostly UB shooting themselves in the foot, and now is really the time to start cleaning it up or it's going to be a long MAC tournament.

Buffalo Bulls Basketball / Bowling Green Game 2/16
« on: February 16, 2018, 10:14:10 AM »
Bulls taking on Bowling Green tonight at 7 at Alumni Arena.

The game is on ESPNU and Buffalo is the favorite by 14 points.

I think this is a game where UB cannot overlook Bowling Green, as BG are on a bit of a streak the last 5 games winning 4 of those games. Still, I think UB should win this game, but the question is, can they finally play a full 40 minute game?

What are everyone's predictions?

Verbal Commits just added another Baltimore MD Power Forward offer for 2019:

Also has offers from Drexel and VCU and was recently contacted by Kansas. It's possible this was the guy Oats went to see per the Gleason article referenced. We have stiff competition for both guys.

I think it was Laquill Hardnett who he visited at the time, not too sure. I'd be happy with either of them, very talented, athletic forwards.

We could be trying to get both, since they're from the same high school. Should be interesting to see where they end up. Both Walker and Hardnett are lengthy, athletic forwards.
